About WURET
Hello, we are WURET. Why we are called WURET? It’s an abbreviation of Wu’s Research Team which is composed of two divisions. A research team and a teaching practice team.
We learn by having different activities such as gaming and recreation activities. In addition, our team focuses on the connection of system development and teaching in practice. If you think you are optimistic and want to learn how to think, communicate with others, and most importantly, you want to bridge theory and practice in your career. What are you waiting for? Purpose
The laboratory's vision is "making our world a better place through educational practice innovation". It is hoped that based on the research foundation of "learning sciences" and "design thinking", combined with various learning technologies of learning theory and related teaching strategies, and long-term cooperation with on-site teachers to jointly promote educational innovation, let Students learn how to be an expert.
Research Area
Our members are learning science researchers and e-learning technology talents. We target at learning theories to refine teaching strategies and collaborate with teachers to practice and revise pedagogical strategies. This lab spots cross-domain research between learning science and educational learning design.
Major Areas of Specialization:
1. Technology assists innovative knowledge building: Develop cutting-edge educational learning platforms and APPs based on Knowledge Building Theory.
2. Technology assists inquiry-based learning and STEAM education: Design and constructs inquiry-based learning and STEAM education online learning platforms and Apps.
3. Applications of Artificial Intelligence(AI) in education: Design and develop "Natural Language Processing" (NLP) with an adaptive learning system.
4. Educational applications of gamification: Developing learning systems and APPs involve game-based elements.
5. Interdisciplinary design (includes STEAM course) and teachers' communities.
Recent Research Result
Teachers' collaborative preparation platform
To develop a "Teacher Co-Lesson Preparation Platform" that combines the discussion space based on the theory of knowledge renovation and the concept of co-preparation, teachers can use this system to conduct co-preparation activities by designing a visual discussion space for ideas and providing a variety of auxiliary tools.
Cooperative Argumentation System with NLP
Users exchange opinions on "ideas" and promote the construction of knowledge. Through scaffolding assistance, users are guided to communicate in a friendly and cooperative way. Through demonstration scaffolding and learning process tool analysis, teachers can get a glimpse of the learning effect and students can train their thinking skills through this system.
Scientific Inquiry Learning System
Develop an idea-centered "cooperative scientific inquiry learning platform" to solve or improve problems that cannot be recorded in traditional inquiry activities. By designing ideas and inquiry practice tools, teachers and students can use this system to conduct an idea-centered inquiry. Activities, easy to see the overall learning process, can carry out reflection or deeper inquiry activities.
